About Us

Walnut Hill Farm broodmares produce first-class foals that are destined for success in the hunter/jumper, dressage, and eventing ring.

Walnut Hill Farm near Paisley, Ontario, was established by Rick and Marjorie Haus in 2010. Over the years, we have grown our herd to raise top-quality Hanoverian horses destined for all equestrian disciplines.

Our stables are located in a gently sloping valley where the mares and their foals benefit from cool temperatures in the summer and moderate temperatures in the winter. This peaceful and tranquil setting is best for the young, developing equine.

The horses at Walnut Hill Farm are part of our family. We invest a lot of time to nurture excellent temperment and demeanor in our foals – they are handled daily to help build their confidence and trust in humans right from birth. Our young-horse trainer provides assistance and additional training with trailering, leading, and basic handling skills.

Our goal is to establish lasting relationships with the buyers of our horses, and are delighted and excited to receive updates! We look forward to developing such a relationship with you!

~ Our Mission ~

We strive to breed top-quality foals destined for success in sport, in a calm and sheltered environment that nurtures our broodmares and their offspring – and to develop lasting relationships with those who purchase our horses.

2013 Hanoverian mare by Graf Top out of our own SPS Cascade (Contendro I/Falkland/Goldstern).

Georgie Girl, also known during her competition years as Graffiti, was one of two foals we bred in Germany. Georgie Girl did her foal inspection and registration in Stadthagen, Germany where she placed 7th out of 56 foals. Imported with her dam in the fall of 2013, Georgie was sold as a yearling, and went on to train and compete in many amateur classes in jumping with her owner. Unfortunately, Georgie’s jumping career came to an end due to an injury. However, we are fortunate to have Georgie back home and look forward to welcoming her 2024 foal by UT Majeur de Brecey!
